Our Google Fiber review resulted in a score of 3.8 out of 5. The fiber provider earned top marks for its no-contract plans with fast speeds of up to 8 GB, fiber-optic connectivity, no fees and no data caps.
Google Fiber lagged behind other top internet providers due to a higher starting price and lack of budget-friendly options. At $70/mo., Google Fiber’s 1 GB plan is similar in price to 1 GB offers from rival ISPs, but that is the cheapest Google internet service you will find. Plus, Google Fiber availability, with a mere 1.1% coverage across the U.S. is less likely to be accessible in your area than other internet providers.

Google Fiber 1000
This fiber internet plan has speeds of 1,000 Mbps upload and download and includes a Nest Wifi Pro (a $199.99 value) that covers up to 2,200 square feet and 1 TB of cloud storage. Google Fiber 1 Gig can support all general online activities of the average household. You can connect multiple Wi-Fi devices simultaneously, including phones, tablets, gaming consoles, smart TVs and more. The symmetrical upload and download speeds are good for gaming, streaming, uploading files and downloading product updates.

Free installation and equipment and no data caps, contracts or early termination fees (ETFs).
Cons
Availability is limited to 19 states.
Google Fiber 2000
If you want faster speeds or more Wi-Fi coverage, try Google Fiber speeds of 2,000 Mbps download and 1,000 Mbps upload. This Google internet plan is best for homes with larger square footage since the coverage area goes up to 5,000+ square feet with the included Wi-Fi extender. Google Fiber’s 2 GB plan can handle competitive gameplay, live streaming, large uploads and multiple devices (20 or more).

Can you bundle Google Fiber internet with TV?
Google home internet doesn’t offer TV bundles in the traditional sense, so the Google Fiber cost is the same with or without TV, and there is no discount for getting internet and TV services. While you can’t get your internet and TV service on one bill, Google Fiber speeds can easily support streaming TV. Google internet recommends several TV partners, such as YouTube TV, fuboTV, DIRECTV and Sling TV.
Google Fiber vs. top internet providers
Compared to other ISPs in the same areas, the Google Fiber cost for a 1 GB plan is about $10/mo. less than plans of the same speed as many of its competitors. However, AT&T, Spectrum and Xfinity offer various high-speed internet plans that start at cheaper prices. If you’re shopping for a home Wi-Fi plan with speeds of 1 GB or more, Google Fiber’s prices offer a great value. However, if you are fine with speeds under 1 GB, several high-speed internet plans from other top cable and fiber providers cost less than Google home internet.
